County Designates 27 Miles of Rail Trail as Non-motorized

After a long drawn out contention that has polarized most of the county, the majority vote of Joe Bond and Brad Miller decided that the Rail Trail will be motorized from Tiger Path to Herron Creek. The remaining trail north to Danville will be non-motorized, about 27 miles. Bob Heath's proposal to have the entire trail non-motor and follow the recent advisory vote was not seconded.

If you want to be part of the move forward to develop the non-motor trail, come to the Rail Trail Committee meetings at the Commissioners office.

Thank you, everyone who helped express the will of the majority by voting, by remaining steadfast through social pressure and by all the many acts of cooperation it took to get here.
